September 26-30

Hello everyone!

Well, we are half way through our week of testing!  The kids are doing great!  Due to testing, folders will not go home Monday, September 26th.  The AR deadline for this 9 weeks will be Wednesday, Oct. 5th at 3:00.  Report cards will go home the following week.  You might have heard something about a pumpkin/animal project.  Instructions for that project will be going home the first Monday in October and will be due October 31st.  We will be "discovering" a brand new animal and using the pumpkin to illustrate it.  I can't wait to see what wonders the kids discover!

Our week:

Spelling: Unit 8 test on Wednesday

This will be the last Spelling Test for the 9 weeks.  Since we are skipping each review unit, we'll be able to take a break from Spelling the last week of the 9 weeks.

Reading: finish Among the Hidden

This has been a great discussion book.  It's just suspenseful enough for 4th grade.

Language: Unit 2 "Nouns" and our 3-D pop up stories

Math: Chapter 3 "Add and Subtract Greater Numbers"

Bible: Lesson 6 is a review of lessons 1-5

Science: Chapter 3 "Animal Adaptations"

History: Chapter 3 "Prehistoric Indians"  We will shoot to have a test on Friday, September 30.

Everyone should bring in a bar of soap to make an arrowhead.  The thin travel sizes (from motels/hotels) work the best.  If you can't find a thin piece of soap, larger bars work.  Just make sure that it is a softer bar of soap.  Dial is really hard to carve.  We aren't quite ready to use them next week, but go ahead and start looking for them.

I hope everyone has a great week!!

Have a great week!!
