I hope everyone has had a great week! I know we have!! It has been a pleasure getting to know everyone and watching our personalities meld together. Loads of learning, singing up high and down low, and plenty of laughter have been interwoven throughout our week. I'd say that we're a pretty good group!
A couple of quick things:
Individual school pictures are August 31st.
AR reading:
- Each nine weeks the students will need to read 3 AR books on their AR level. The students have already taken the STAR test to determine their starting AR level. At the end of the nine weeks, their top 3 AR scores will be averaged. This will be counted as one daily grade in reading. After the students have read 3 AR books, they still need to keep reading each day. If their book is over 200 pages, they may count it as 2 books, 300 pages as 3 books, etc.
- However, there are a few books to which this will not apply. We have already discussed these books as a class. Each of these books have a picture on each page or are laid out like a comic strip/journal.
Now for our subjects:
Spelling: Unit 2
Reading: The Boys Start the War chapters 10-15 skills: cause/effect and sequencing
Language: Unit 1 "subjects and predicates"
Bible: Genesis 1 "creation"
Math: Chapter 1 "standard, word, and expanded form"
Science: Chapter 1 "classification"
History: Chapter 1 "regions of Alabama"
Have a wonderful week!!
